One of the solutions for retailers to alleviate the financial crisis caused by the isolation, a consequence of the coronavirus, is to adopt the delivery system.
One potential solution could be to partner with the delivery app Rappi, which has seen demand triple in recent weeks, particularly for supermarket, pharmacy and food purchases, says S/A Varejo.
But how do these delivery apps work? Which ones are available on the market, and which one best suits your business?
In 2018 and 2019 , Liga Insights released two reports on startups operating in delivery, reverse logistics, and deliveries. We've listed nine of them here and briefly described what they are and how they operate. Read on to learn more.
Multi-delivery companies for retail
Sales of food, beverages, and hygiene and cleaning products, along with delivery apps, are the new growth fronts for online commerce. "Apps have a multiplier effect and are helping to popularize e-commerce," says Carlos Coutinho, partner at the consulting firm PwC Brasil.
Eduardo Terra, president of the Brazilian Retail Society, says that the partnership between apps and supermarkets is a path of no return, as smartphones have changed purchasing habits and companies are racing to be better positioned than their rivals in this new market.
According to Terra, despite being a new channel, supermarket sales through delivery apps are growing rapidly and now represent between 5% and 10% of some stores' revenue.

As discussed at the beginning of this article, delivery companies can significantly help retailers continue their sales. Therefore, consider the options above, but don't limit yourself to them.
Also consider hiring temporary, self-employed motorcycle couriers for delivery in your area. Besides helping the community where your brand operates, the rates may be more attractive with this option.
If you choose to hire a local motorcycle courier, it's important that you provide training on how to act in this quarantine scenario, how to protect yourself and others.
